Glial Cells contain and secrete molecules that influence the survival, growth and differentiation of neurons.

There are 2 types of Glia Cells:

1.- Astrocytes that provides metabolic support and secretion of important compounds.
2.-
Oligodentrocytes predominately in the white matter forming myelin around axons.

Neurons need Glial Cells in their vicinity to synthesise neurotransmitters
